Academic Activities & Achievements
2012- Improving the estimation of leaf area index in winter wheat by incorporating angular index adequately represents the geometric structures of vegetation. Research is accepted and published by Journal of Applied Remote Sensing.

Incorporated angular index NDHD in the improved model for better accounting for foliage clumping.

Investigated the potential of the improved model in LAI estimation using both Five-Scale model simulations and in situ measurements of BRDF and LAI in the growth cycle of wheat.

Investigated the feasibility of the improved model in estimating LAI with different ecosystems using MODIS BRDF data.

2012-2013 Estimation of Leaf area index from TM imagery using the algorithm based on geometric–optical model. EORSA, 2012 Second International Workshop.

Established new lookup tables (LUTs) including the key coefficients in the BRDF kernels and the coefficients of LAI-SR relationship for the Landsat5/TM red band and near-infrared band using Four-scale model simulations.

BRDF corrections and normalization is coupled in the algorithm directly through a simple iteration procedure.

Investigated the feasibility of the algorithm based on Four-Scale model for the retrieval of LAI at spatial resolution of TM imagery.

2010- Retrieval of Land surface temperature from thermal infrared bands using mono-window algorithms or split-window algorithms.

Modified the coefficients of mono-window algorithms for HJ-1 thermal-infrared band and Landsat-8 band10 using MODTRAN4 code and atmospheric profiles (TIGR).

Conducted sensitivity analysis of the modified algorithms

Investigated the performance of HJ-1 and Landsat-8 data on LST retrieval using different mono-window algorithms.
